She's Here!!

Friday morning I woke up to a wet bed. My sweet husband put a giant plastic bag over my side of the bed..sweet right? Nothing like the swishy sound of sleeping on top of a garbage bag. Anyway, I had my mind set that Monday morning would be THE BIG DAY, I was SO wrong. Get this, I get out of bed and take one step and my bladder let loose. I wasn't feeling that instant relief and tried to cross my legs to stop peeing my pants when it hit me..."Hey, Meesa, maybe this isn't pee and your water is breaking....start freaking out." I didn't freak out and just took a shower and got my stuff ready. Mama Gordon called Josh at school and told him that my water broke.
We hung out at home for a while to wait for some contractions but, nothing. I previously tested positive for the Strep B so I needed to go in and get the antibiotics. We get to Banner Gateway at 9:30 AM and they put me straight on Pitocin. Hours went by and my contractions were getting closer and closer and a little more painful. I finally gave in and got the epidural...that was the worst part because I kept contracting when the CRNA would put the needle in and I had major shakes. It took about 40 minutes and I was super numb and feeling REAL good. Seven o clock rolls around and Josh went to eat dinner with his parents, I was dilated at 5 1/2 by then and not even 10 minutes later I was dilated to 8 1/2. I call Josh to get him up to the room and by the time he got there from the cafeteria I was good to go. 20 minutes of pushing and little Devan June Gordon made her way into the world at 8:24 PM. We love her to death and right away she captured her Daddy's heart and she's got him wrapped around her finger. I love snuggling her and having MY baby at home finally. I love being a Mom and I'm so grateful for everyone that came or just gave their love to our little one. Thank you!!

Be Happy

The baby shower was AMAZING!! I love every single thing Devan got. My sisters in law and mom-in-law did such a GREAT job with organizing and planning especially when they already had so much on their plate! My mom made the most amazing food and I was so glad that everyone loved the food. Many thanks to my sister, mom and in-laws for everything, love you all!!
Devan gave us quite the surprise because we thought my water broke 30 minutes before my shower..no need to worry..it didn't and I'm STILL pregnant. I did go to the doctor today and we have a date set for September 14th to finally get her out. I can't tell you how relieved and excited I am. Finally a for sure day to look forward to, unless she decides to come earlier.

I less than three you....

16 days left and I'm ready as I will ever be. I'm just ready to plunge head first into mommy mode. Bring it on! This next week my main focus will be trying to evict this child from uterus. P.S. did anyone watch Project Runway the other night when they were making maternity clothes? What was up with that guy's chicken-egg thing? Anyway,I'm so ready to see her and go crazy from the lack of sleep, most of all just get to hold her and kiss her little toes and fingers and nuzzle her!!
Its been a long 9 months and its been fun having my little nugget but sorry kiddo I refuse to have an old man, Benjamin Button baby. I don't want to go the full 40. Plus, Josh is having a hard time holding in his excitement. There isn't really much to update, I'm dilated to 2 and effaced 50%. I'm grateful to have anything, cross your fingers we can finally have this stubborn girl next week.

P.S. Best wishes and congrats to Cajsa and Leah for having some super cute bundles! Good work ladies!

Last days...

Do you see that my baby counter thing is on the last baby? Do you see how the baby is so big it barely fits in the box? That's exactly what my baby is doing. She's too big and I'm surprised my guts aren't coming out of my eyes. We're down to the last month people. I need projects. I started scrapbooking again (thank you Erika!!) and the other night I made some bows, with the help of one of my super good friends, Cajsa. Thank you Casa! I need to do more. My next project is this:

Halloween is around the corner and I already have a matching bow for my little pumpkin to wear. I think the pettiskirt would be amazing! I just have this craft bug, except that I'm one of those people you hate, because I start things and never finish them. Sad, I know. I need to stay occupied until baby gets here.

I'm a Mother Lover

Not in the JT/Adam Sandberg way though. I love my mom, she's the best. I love that I get all my inappropriateness and ADD from her. I can literally talk to her about anything! She makes me smile. My favorite thing to do when all my brothers and sisters were still at home was waking up Saturday morning and climbing into bed with her. We would talk for hours and laughed until our guts came out. Ahhhhh...........I miss it. I love seeing my mom, she's one of my bestest friends in the whole world besides Josh.
Being pregnant and getting ready to be a mom myself, freaks me out! I was rather rebellious in my teen years and didn't listen to my mom 99.9% of the time. Now I wish I had...yes mom..if you're reading this...I admit it. I wish I would have listened. Yes, that just happened, those words came out of my brain and onto my blog. I'm so glad that I can call her at anytime and ask her the most random and disturbing questions about pregnancy.

I love my Mama!

Can you believe how big my nephew is getting? He's huge!

Thats hot.....

Living in Arizona in the summer is like living in a fat man's sweaty armpit. Its so hot and when it rains its muggy and sticky. Humidity is not my friend, in fact on Saturdays I make it a point to not go outside unless its an emergency. I can go a whole day without letting the sun touch my beautiful stretched out flabby skin.

Anyway besides Arizona being so hot, do you know who has two thumbs and is going to rock his clinicals this Saturday?

This Guy!

He's headed down to Tucson to take his test and I'm going solely for Grandpa Button's potato pancakes and Grandma Button's banana shakes. So good....I'm drooling as I type this. On another note, can you believe that I'm six weeks away from giving birth? It really needs to come sooner. I'm not sure how all of you are going to endure my rants on my hooha hurting and my stories on how I can cry, laugh, yell and pee my pants all at once. Does anyone else feel like saying vagina is like all the people in the Harry Potter movies saying Voldermort? It makes you feel uncomfortable and awkward to say it so you come up with another name for it?

Hang in there baby

Recently, I feel like I've been overwhelmed with a series of situations. Really they aren't that bad and if I were normal they wouldn't have been a big deal, however.....being pregnant has magnified my emotions by quadruple. I've been really stressed about money and I've been working really hard ok maybe not REALLY hard but I've paid more attention to our finances than I have in the past. I know, I know....I've been married for almost 2 years and I'm just starting it now. I have seen the light and am now forging a path that will lead our family to be financially fit. Ok so back to the finances. Josh has been working part time and going to school full time. Poor guy, I'm glad he has time to breathe and shower.
This month has been a little scary with the bills that we have and we aren't crazy broke, but its been such a challenge because we've been trying to pay off our debt and other monthly bills that we have. Its not fun, let's not forget to mention that we have made payments and for some reason the billing company decides to take a double payment. What the crap is that about? So, today that happened again this would be the third time its happened to us. I did the only thing I could. I cried, not just any crying but huge crocodile tears and I did the huffing and puffing....at work. I was embarrassed because my eyes were red and my cheeks puffed up.
After feeling sorry for myself, I went to the bathroom and prayed. I just prayed for a little comfort and I came back to my desk and tried really hard to suck it up. Then, it came, a little comfort. I felt like the Grinch when his heart started to grow bigger and bigger. I really have nothing to complain about. I may have a little money, but it'll get me by. I have a healthy baby girl and I have hard working, loving husband. I am humbled. Things always work out. Let me be your "hang in there" kitty poster for today.
