Well I think its safe to say that Devan and I are going to make it. I love her and she loves me most of the time. I tell you what though, being a mom isn't the same as having a pet. Remember when I first started my blog and I told all of you about my 12 step program I had to go through before Josh would even consider me taking care of another life? Let me refresh your memory... It all started with a chia pet...if I could take care of that I could have a garden and if I could take care of that...a puppy and then if the puppy could survive me then along comes baby..not quite 12 steps but you get the point. Well, needless to say my chia pet died because of monsoon season I left it outside and it was knocked over and I also forgot about it for a couple days...or weeks. Then my garden was doing awesome and then with my work schedule being so crazy...it died..the whole thing. Then my puppy...good ole Bowser..he didn't die...but because our apartments wouldn't let us keep him we had to give him away or be evicted. So technically the puppy wasn't my fault, but I could understand everyone's worry about me having another life in my hands...a human one at that. Don't worry I must be doing something right because at her appointment she gained a whole pound and grew a quarter of an inch. She is spoiled rotten by everyone especially her daddy. My favorite times are just watching her make faces and I could just watch her all day. She's such a good girl and Josh and I are so blessed to have her!
In other news..Josh had an interview with Banner Desert which is a HUGE deal for him and us because its his jumpstart into his medical career. Please pray for him, its a big deal and he deserves to get the job. He's been working so hard and I know he has. He's such a great dad, when he comes home exhausted from school and work he still makes the time to cuddle with Devan. Its adorable.

She's Here!!
Friday morning I woke up to a wet bed. My sweet husband put a giant plastic bag over my side of the bed..sweet right? Nothing like the swishy sound of sleeping on top of a garbage bag. Anyway, I had my mind set that Monday morning would be THE BIG DAY, I was SO wrong. Get this, I get out of bed and take one step and my bladder let loose. I wasn't feeling that instant relief and tried to cross my legs to stop peeing my pants when it hit me..."Hey, Meesa, maybe this isn't pee and your water is breaking....start freaking out." I didn't freak out and just took a shower and got my stuff ready. Mama Gordon called Josh at school and told him that my water broke.
We hung out at home for a while to wait for some contractions but, nothing. I previously tested positive for the Strep B so I needed to go in and get the antibiotics. We get to Banner Gateway at 9:30 AM and they put me straight on Pitocin. Hours went by and my contractions were getting closer and closer and a little more painful. I finally gave in and got the epidural...that was the worst part because I kept contracting when the CRNA would put the needle in and I had major shakes. It took about 40 minutes and I was super numb and feeling REAL good. Seven o clock rolls around and Josh went to eat dinner with his parents, I was dilated at 5 1/2 by then and not even 10 minutes later I was dilated to 8 1/2. I call Josh to get him up to the room and by the time he got there from the cafeteria I was good to go. 20 minutes of pushing and little Devan June Gordon made her way into the world at 8:24 PM. We love her to death and right away she captured her Daddy's heart and she's got him wrapped around her finger. I love snuggling her and having MY baby at home finally. I love being a Mom and I'm so grateful for everyone that came or just gave their love to our little one. Thank you!!

Be Happy
The baby shower was AMAZING!! I love every single thing Devan got. My sisters in law and mom-in-law did such a GREAT job with organizing and planning especially when they already had so much on their plate! My mom made the most amazing food and I was so glad that everyone loved the food. Many thanks to my sister, mom and in-laws for everything, love you all!!
Devan gave us quite the surprise because we thought my water broke 30 minutes before my shower..no need to worry..it didn't and I'm STILL pregnant. I did go to the doctor today and we have a date set for September 14th to finally get her out. I can't tell you how relieved and excited I am. Finally a for sure day to look forward to, unless she decides to come earlier.
