I love this painting, it was love at first sight! This pictures constantly reminds that no matter what our skin color is or whatever walk of life we're from our Savior still loves us. This painting is called "Children of the World" and I also think of the line in A Child's Prayer when it says "..suffer the children to come to me." Such a sweet reminder. Anyway, my fave...maybe one day I will have the huge painting of it (wink, wink dear)

Day 16: A song that makes me cry
What makes this song even better is the background of it. The lead singer of Yellowcard (or used to be), his grandpa wrote this love letter to his wife of 58+ years and you can hear him reading it in the song. So sweet that he is still so in love with his sweetheart after all those years. Little happy tears always come out of my eyeballs when I hear it. Enjoy!

Day 15: Fanfic
What the heck is a "fanfic?" Its late and my brain isn't working so well these days, plus I have no desire to look it up myself.

Day 13: A Fictional Book

I'm a Wicked fan. I still haven't seen the musical sensation but I have read the books. This is the first one and let me tell you its scandalous. I'm not telling you to read it but if you are going to pick this one up...beware.

Day 11: Photo taken of me recently
I refuse to take any pictures of myself in my current state. I don't want to be reminded of how I'm starting my own solar system. Here's one that is taken earlier in the year...it'll due for now.

Day 10: A photo of me taken over 10 years ago
oh boy....are you ready for this?
Age: 7
Ignore my crazy shark teeth. This shirt was my favorite shirt in the entire world, if I could fit into I totally would rock it today, pregnant belly and all. Can you picture it? Delish...
Place: Uncle Tony and Aunt Polly's in NM.

Day 9: A Photo I took
My first trip, without family. Josh and I took this trip and had an amazing time! This was at Ground Zero and you can still see the damage that is still being cleaned up years later. It was a really moving experience to see how many people from all over the world came together to try and help pick up the pieces. It made me feel really humbled that there are still so many people willing to give a helping hand to a complete stranger.

Day 8: A Photo that makes sad/angry
I actually really love this photo, but it does make me sad because the woman in the photo is my sweet mother-in-law June. I miss her lots and think about her lots. I think about her a lot when I'm in the kitchen or when I'm attempting to bake something. She was the master of baking and taught me a lot about baking and showed me her vast collection of fun baking doodads. The very first thing I wanted her to teach me was to bake a peach cobbler, she stayed up until almost midnight with me showing me the ins and outs of making the perfect cobbler. I do miss her and I kick myself all the time because I only have two pictures of her and Devan together. I hate that I didn't capture more, I have tons of memories but none on paper.

Day 7: Photo that makes me happy

Were you expecting a photo of my kids? Psh! This photo makes me super happy! This is my adorable husband Josh. Isn't he cute? Doesn't he remind you of Michelle Tanner? You got it duuude! I'm in love with this picture and how stinkin cute it is! I still make him give me thumbs up and say "you got it duude." He hates it, I love it.

Day 6: Whatever tickles my fancy
I'm craving Christmas. Its in my top 3 favorite holidays. Love the tree, decorations, the company, the smell and last but certainly not least the annual tamale making get together with my mom and my two sisters. Ohhhh where are you Christmas?

Day 5: Favorite Quote
"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."
— Marjorie Pay Hinckley
I love this woman!

Favorite Book
This is a toughie. I'm in no way a bookworm, I want to be but I think I might have some ADD. My husband is the bookworm in the family, I make fun of him but I'm really just jealous that he can just sit and read. So anyways (Nacho style), my favorite book that I have read was actually recommended by my good friend Miriam (side note: if you're reading this, I'm still very depressed that you guys are moving east coast, we'll miss you). Drum roll please:
I loved this book! It was written so honestly and without the author adding her opinion about her life. Pick it up its awesome...I'm currently waiting for the sequel, I've been on hold at the library for weeks.

Favorite Movie
This movie has become my recent favorite since it first came out. I don't think there's a movie I could watch over and over and over and over (get my drift?) again and still laugh as hard as the first time. I quote a lot from this movie because it makes me happy and I CAN and HAVE watched this movie several times in a day.

Favorite Song
Well Ashlee and Serena you have inspired me to blog 30 things in 30 days. So here goes:
Oh geez...I love, LOVE, love oldies...like Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole and the ever so wonderful Etta James....since I would have to pick a favorite it would have to be "At Last" by Etta James.

This is mine and Josh's song, we always junior high slow dance to it.

4th of July
This had to be the busiest 4th of July ever! I was all farty and bloaty the night before so to take extra precautions I didn't go to church, I know I'm a sinner. Seriously, I did not want to be sick on anyone. After a wonderful 3 hour nap I felt much better and our little pack headed for the annual Gordon BBQ. Yum! Whoever made the cheesecake I need the recipe ASAP! Then after stuffing my face there we headed to my parents house for another schmorgesborg of meats and other tasty foods. By this time I was pretty sure either my food baby or my real baby needed to be delivered. We then headed to see our good friends the Greenhalgh's (we've missed your scent) we ate some yummy homemade ice cream and let our stomachs have a rest from all the face stuffing. Devan was so relaxed she threw up all the food people were putting in front of her. I'm an awesome mom and watched as they cleaned it up (sorry again). We ended the night with them coming home with us and watching a long movie I didn't understand...but still we love hanging out with the Greenhalgh's (Serena I think we need to hang out more often because seriously its been way too long). In the end our tummies were happy and we were glad to spend the 4th with family and friends! We love the U.S.A!
